Oh, where to begin with this multi-coloured, oh-so-pretty ensamble? I think it's just lovely! Debuted on 19 June 2013, Day 2 of the Royal Ascot horse races, it comprises a lightweight crepe coat in mint green and a floral silk dress, both by Peter Enrione, plus a hat by Angela Kelly in pink straw, trimmed with mint green fabric and a large silk rose with feathers to one side.
It's interesting to note that the Queen managed - without realsing - to scupper the bookmakers' hopes of low payouts to those who bet on what colour outfit and hat she would be wearing. In fact, in this instance, everyone who guessed she would wear either pink, purple or green headgear received winnings. For the occasion, the Queen sported a new emerald and diamond brooch in the Art Deco style:
The outfit was worn again a year later, on 12 June 2014, for a visit to Westminster School in London, this time paired with the Queen Mother's Palm Leaf brooch:
On 30 June 2015, the Queen wore this outfit again for the Ceremony of the Keys at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh, at the start of her annual week of Scottish engagements (Daily Mail article here). As usual for the occasion, she selected the Royal Regiment of Scotland badge brooch:
The outfit was repeated on 19 May 2016 at a Buckingham Palace garden party (Daily Mail article here). This time the Queen accessorized with the Cullinan V brooch:
This is a look I'd be perfectly happy to see worn on a weekly basis, so much I love it! :)
