Cobalt for Australian Engagements

The Queen first wore this vibrant blue Angela Kelly outfit on 21 October 2011, the fourth day of her and the Duke of Edinburgh's State visit to Australia, to inspect the troops at Duntroon Royal Military College in Canberra, accessorised with her Sri Lankan flower spray brooch, a bouquet of multi-coloured stones presented to the Queen by the Mayor of Colombo in 1981. Made of luxurious shantung silk in a rich shade of kingfisher blue, the collarless coat has self-covered buttons and no pockets. The hat, in a lampshade style, is made of straw dyed to match, and features a large pleated silk sash around the crown:

This outfit reappeared some time down the line, on 24 June 2014, to reopen Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 after extensive refurbishments, prior to departing for Belfast, Northern Ireland (Daily Mail article can be found here). For this occasion, the Queen chose her diamond and emerald Shamrock brooch:

The Queen wore the dress on its own when meeting first minister Peter Robinson at a private audience in Hillsborough Castle:

The is certainly an outfit I hope to see more of!
