Electric Blue Coat and Dress with Red-Trimmed Hat

A double-breasted bright blue coat with flap pockets, matched to a straw hat in the same colour, with a large blue curling ribbon trimmed in red. This is a look and colour I personally love on Her Majesty!

On 27 April 2011, just two days before the Royal Wedding, the Queen chose this outfit, complete with Queen Victoria's sapphire and diamond brooch, for a visit to St John's College at The University of Cambridge as part of the celebrations to mark its 500th anniversary:

 

Then, on 1 January 2012, the Queen wore this outfit again for the traditional Sunday morning Church service at St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham Estate, this time accessorizing with her sapphire and diamond chrysanthemum brooch:

 

 

After a long spell out of the public eye, the outfit was repeated on 18 April 2015, at the Newbury horse races, accessorised with a new pair of Art Deco diamond clips:

The Queen repeated this outfit on 3 July 2016, to attend the Sunday service at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, during her annual week-long stay in the Scottish capital (Daily Mail article here; for some reason the dress colour is identified as "lavender").
