White Tweed Ensamble with Metallic Lace Trim by Angela Kelly

This Angela Kelly outfit is comprised of a silver lamé and white tweed cockatil coat, with a portrait collar, large round mother-of-pearl buttons and silver metallic scalloped tulle lace appliqued to the hem and cuffs, plus a fitted dress in the same fabric and with the same scalloped detail and a fabric-covered hat trimmed with feathers and hand-made flowers created from metallic lace.

This look was created specifically for the opening ceremony of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on 23 July 2014, and reflects Scotland's heritage in its use of tweed, a thriving industry in Scotland. For its first outing, the Queen accessorized her outfit with a multi-coloured diamond brooch in the shape of a sprig of flowers, first seen during her visit to France in June 2014 (Daily Mail articles here and here):

On 9 June 2015, the Queen repeated the coat and dress to a reception at the Royal Hospital Chelsea marking 200 years of Gurkha service with the British Armed Forces (Daily Mail article here). This time, Her Majesty accessorized with her Pearl Triangle brooch:
